Each January, I make a resolution to get healthier. While I typically focus on eating better, there's so much more to getting healthy than just food. I've been learning just how much of what we use on our skin and around our homes can play a role in living a healthier lifestyle. That's where the Ecocentric Mom comes in.
Ecocentric Mom is a subscription box that focuses on non-toxic, healthy products. There's a box available for the each phase of motherhood: Pregnancy for expectant moms, Moms & Babies for those with infants and young children up to 18 months, and Moms for those that are past their pregnancy and baby days, like me. No matter which phase you're in, each box is filled with handpicked products that focus on being earth-friendly and natural.
I was sent the January Mom Box in exchange for my review. While the box was provided to me at no cost, all opinions are my own and have not been influenced by the sponsor. For more information, please refer to this site's disclosure policy.
The January Mom Box contained 8 non-toxic products for the home and for me. In addition to a card with product info and discount codes, the box included:
- Kala Coconut Oil
- Orange House Dish Soap & Liquid Laundry Detergent
- DERMAE Microdermabrasion Scrub
- Pinups & Paramours Natural Deodorant
- Pinups & Paramours Essential Oil Lip Balm
- Brigit True Organics Protecting & Rejuvenating Hand Cream in "Tuscan Rose"
- Chuao Chocolatier Enamoured Collection Chocolate Bar
- Three Bluebirds Swedish Dishcloth
The Swedish dishcloth from Three Bluebirds was the most intriguing item in the box. It can do the work of 17 rolls of paper towels! It can also be put in the dishwasher or washing machine - so much less gross than a sponge full of germs. We've used it a number of times and my toddler (who needs a napkin near him at all times) absolutely loves it.
I also thought that the DERMAE Microdermabrasion Scrub came at the perfect time for me - the winter is starting to make my skin dry and flake. It's the right time to get rid of dull skin. The Pinups & Paramours peppermint lip balm went right into my purse - it's the time of year for chapped lips. I love rose scented things, so the Birgit True Organics hand cream was a hit right away.
The Chuao Chocolatier dark chocolate square was delicious - I wish it was a full sized bar instead of a little square! The full size tube of Kala coconut oil was also much appreciated. It's easy to squeeze a bit for a hair overnight mask and it's much easier to store than my usual jar.
The Ecocentric Mom Subscription box introduced me to brands and products that I hadn't heard of before; it's always fun to try new brands, especially when they are healthier than what I would normally buy. My most favorite part about the box: it's chock full of goodies for ME - the only household products were the dish soap and the dishcloth. As moms we tend to put everyone else's needs ahead of our own. The Ecocentric Mom Subscription Box Review was a good reminder that I can take care of myself using more natural products - even if it's enjoying the chocolate square during a particularly hectic afternoon. I really enjoyed the concept behind this box and the thoughtfully chosen products in it. It would also make a perfect gift for a new or expectant mom!
