My Mom Uniform: the Weekend Outfit (Summer Edition 2)

The hot summer weather has definitely started here in Texas. Most days it's too hot to layer tanks to breastfeeding using the sandwich method. Whether it's the heat or my laziness, I've started wearing flowing chiffon cardigans over a nursing tank and shorts. I add sandals, some interesting earrings, and voila, suddenly I'm on trend, staying cool, and able to breastfeed in public.

I recently shared a photo on Instagram of me wearing one with a nursing camisole. You have the option to use the extra fabric to cover your breast if you prefer. They're lightweight to keep you cool in the heat. They're a great piece to wear in pregnancy that can easily transition to your postpartum wardrobe.

Easy Breezy

Additional places that carry similar cardigans in straight and plus sizes include Forever 21JC PenneyAsos, and ModCloth.  Many major brands and retailers market them as kimonos. I have thoughts on this that are best reserved for a different post. Other than the wide sleeve and occasional nature print, they don't resemble traditional Japanese kimonos.
